In partnership with Intel and VMware, and in alignment with the Virtual Protection and Control (vPAC) Alliance vision, OrionVX is deployed as a virtual machine on a server, bringing applications a new level of unparalleled flexibility and scalability.
Enterprise front end processor
At the enterprise level, OrionVX can act as a Front End Processor for the collection and normalization of data from substations, pole tops, vaults, and IOT devices to SCADA, DERMS, ADMS and asset management systems.
Virtual substation RTU
Running on a server in a substation alongside a virtualized protection relay, OrionVX is an ideal solution for the virtualized protection and control concept with simplified management and a reduced number of hardware appliances.
Familiar Interface
OrionVX uses the same configuration tools, interfaces, software options and protocols as all Orion RTUs, thanks to the common OrionOS.
Highly Redundant
OrionVX can be installed on a single server or a cluster, and supports any combination of Orion Redundancy, vSphere High Availability and vSphere Fault Tolerance.
Powerful Flexibility
Install OrionVX on any compatible server and hypervisor with up to 512 client device connections and 80,000 points for large-scale applications.
