New features and options
OrionMX Expansion Cards
Three new OrionMX expansion cards provide options for AC power measurements, communications, and I/O.
The E1 card features six RJ45 10/100/1000Mbps ports and two SFP ports. It can function as an unmanaged switch or as independent NICs for connection to IEDs.
The A1 card is a 4-channel analog input (card with software selectable signal types, including ±10V, ±2mA, 4-20mA, and ±58V dc.
The M2 meter card has a set of 5A internal CTs for 3-phase current measurement (phase A, B, C). It also has two sets of PT inputs for voltage measurement (up to 600V ac) of phases A, B, and C on 2 separate lines.

Orion I/O Analog Output Card
The Orion I/O type #9 card features eight analog output channels with software selectable output ranges. Output signal types include +/-2mA, 4-20mA, +/-10V dc.

Gas Density Monitor
The Orion Gas Density Monitor offers advanced, real-time tracking of SF₆ gas density in high-voltage switchgear and gas-insulated substations. SF₆ is essential for reliable, safe power transmission, but monitoring is critical-leaks can lead to dangerous situations and regulatory challenges.
The Gas Density Monitor software option leverages industry-standard sensors, with support for Modbus, and 4-20mA sensors. It automatically logs, trends, and alarms on density changes, calculates leakage rates, and predicts when alarm thresholds will be reached. Simple configuration, clear WebUI, and flexible alarm settings make it an indispensable tool for utilities.
Postgres Database Exporter
The Postgres Database Exporter option lets you automatically sync local Orion Postgres databases to a remote Postgres server. Combine records from multiple Orion devices for unified reporting, permanent offsite storage, and peace of mind.
Whether you need to generate detailed historical reports or ensure reliable backup of your archives and alarms, the DB Exporter makes data management simple. Flexible archive modes let you start with just new data or backfill existing records, and customizable intervals keep your reports up to date.
LogicPak Enhancements
Enhancements with the 10.6 Distro include the addition of DataSelector and ControlLink to the LogicPak software option. DataSelector allows up to 16 sources of data to be mapped to a single point for increased resiliency of operations in case of equipment failure. ControlLink simultaneously sends the value of a single point to up to 16 output points and is an ideal basis for load shedding applications.
